Biography

Renata Cardoso is an economist with MBA, with extensive experience in corporate sustainability, climate change strategy and strategic planning in the global mining and metals industry. Prior to Electra Battery Materials, Renata spent 15 years with Vale, based both at headquarters in Brazil and in Canada, taking leadership roles in Climate Change and Sustainability functions. In her previous role as Low Carbon Manager with Vale Canada, she oversaw the development of a global decarbonization program for all the company’s operational sites. Now as Electra’s Vice President, Sustainability and Low Carbon, Renata leads the development of the company’s ESG credentials to supply ethical, low carbon and traceable materials for the electric vehicles market.
