Biography
I am Dr. Manish Kumar Kar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. Before joining IIT Kharagpur, I completed my PhD and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at NTNU, Norway. My research focuses on hydrogen-based direct reduced iron (DRI), green steel production, manganese extraction and production, alumina recovery, and recycling of critical metals. My work aims to develop sustainable, low-carbon processes for metal production and resource recovery.
