Biography
I'm a biomining researcher who has studied the extraction of critical metals from e-waste and other industrial waste with heterotrophic organisms over the last five years. In my master's thesis, I studied the application of an alkaliphilic heterotrophic bacterium (Bacillus foraminis) for the extraction of Ag, Mo and Cu from mobile phone displays. In my PhD, I am focused on improving the industrial applicability of the bioleaching process to extract Ga and REEs from LED lamps with acidophilic bacteria. I am also working as an R&D intern in a local metal recycling company to develop a sustainable extraction process for e-waste.
