Biography

Ronaldo Sampaio is expert in metallurgy, green energy and circular economy. He majored in Brazil, with highest honors in Metallurgy Engineering, earning his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Carnegie Mellon University. Ronaldo is distinguished fellow of Association for Iron & Steel Technology(AIST); technically awarded for many publications, authored and coauthored more than 100 papers and 8 class books. Sampaio started as Professor in UFMG Brazilian University. He was CEO of VALE’s business for Barium & Strontium Ferrites powders, also working as Expert on New Ironmaking technologies and value-in-use applications. Since 1997, Sampaio provides consultancy on: charcoal Ironmaking, Ferroalloys, Steelmaking, attending many charcoal-based pig iron producers. He was pioneer in Brazil with: CO2 emissions evaluation for biomass-based metal production and Value-In-Use methodology. Since 2000, Sampaio has been technical advisor for Vallourec South America, leading technical discussions for Vallourec’s steelworks; also mentoring more than 260 new engineers working for Vallourec and other companies. Starting january 2023 as retired and open to work in wise CO2 fication and oxygen regeneration through the use of sustainable photossythesis.
