Dr. Ali Nasiri
5 articlesBiography
Dr. Nasiri is an Associate Professor, a Canada Research Chair (CRC)-Tier 2, and the director of the Large-Scale Additive Manufacturing (L-SAM) Lab at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. His research contributions lie in advancing state-of-the-art metal additive manufacturing (AM) processes toward large-scale parts production with tailored properties at drastically reduced production time and cost. Dr. Nasiri’s research is also recognized for contributions in microstructure-properties-performance relationships in additively manufactured advanced metallic materials, i.e., high strength corrosion resistant alloys and nanoparticles reinforced high-strength aluminum alloys, as well as post-printing process developments for AM fabricated parts to improve mechanical integrity and service life. In recognition of his contributions to the field of advanced hybrid manufacturing, he has been awarded several top-tier international awards in his field, including the American Welding Society (AWS) Robert L. Peaslee Memorial Award and the Glenn J. Gibson AWS Fellowship Award.
