Biography

Brian graduated with a Bachelor's of Materials Engineering from McGill University in 2016 where his research focused on light metal alloy metallurgy for the automotive and aerospace industry. In 2017, he transitioned to metallurgy in the mineral processing context, working for CiDRA mineral processing on the development of their P29 Technology. When the COVID-19 virus hit Brian accepted an opportunity to return to school for a PhD under Dr. Charlotte Gibson at Queen's University, from which he graduated in January 2025. His researched focused on spodumene flotation and was conducted with close collaboration and support from SGS Lakefield, where he has been employed as a metallurgist since 2021 working on several developing lithium projects. Brian also continues to research lithium mineral processing at Queen's University as a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Gibson's Critical Minerals Processing Group.
