Biography
Michael Baker is a senior research fellow in economic geology at the Australian Research Council’s Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Transforming the Mining Value Chain (TMVC) and Centre for Ore Deposit and Earth Sciences (CODES) at the University of Tasmania, specializing in the alteration mineral chemistry of porphyry and epithermal systems. He completed his Ph.D. degree in igneous petrology and geochemistry at the University of Tasmania in 2007 and spent a year working as a project geologist for the Northern Territory Geological Survey of Australia prior to his current role.
