Mahmoud Al-Riffai is a Water Resources Engineer with over 20 years of professional experience. He began his early career as a Mechanical Engineer before committing to academia in Water Resources (Civil) Engineering. Mahmoud focused his research on the breach mechanics of noncohesive earthen embankments through the development of experimental methods and use of computational tools.
After 10 years in academia, Mahmoud resumed his practice of water resources engineering within the consulting industry. He has experience in mining projects across all of Canada, but also in USA, Mexico, Finland, Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Mahmoud also worked on surface and groundwater non-mining related projects in Africa and the Middle East (Egypt, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and UAE).
