Anelda holds a Ph.D. in geology that she acquired at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. She has 19 years experience in the mining industry and began her career as a scientist at Anglo American Research Laboratories where she worked for 9 years in Johannesburg on a wide variety of ore deposits and metallurgical products.
Anelda joined Teck in 2011 and still applies her passion for rocks to help with the integration of mineralogical data sets for maximum gains and minimum risk at all levels of the mine life cycle. She has two young daughters, Andonae and Clarissa, and enjoys playing piano, taekwondo and snowboarding.
