Abstract:

In the dynamic realm of mining, a digital transformation is unfolding, and the question arises: why wouldn't we embrace data-driven innovation? Join us for a thought-provoking glimpse into what's on the horizon as PETRA Data Science uncovers learning from the past to minimise our impact on the future by mining smarter.

We introduce the concept of an ever-learning orebody, with cyclic data fed back into orebody knowledge. Highlighting the potential of operational data to fuel predictive, forward-thinking mining practices. With the power of cloud computing, machine learning models, and artificial intelligence at its core, this innovative approach is redefining the essence of mining.

What if we could enhance productivity, reduce energy consumption, and embrace sustainable environmental practices? Through engaging case studies and provocative discussions, the PETRA team will unveil an alternative future for the mining industry, where data and technology open the door to uncharted possibilities and responsible resource management.

The use of AI has merged into our everyday lives, and now it's easy to leverage into minimising our mining impact.
