Biography

Janelle Adrain is a chemical engineer with more than three decades of experience implementing process safety in high-hazard operations, including petroleum and gas, mining and explosives, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals. Janelle's focus has always been making process safety work in practice. Working alongside operators, engineers, and leaders from the frontline to the Board, Janelle's work centres on helping organisations understand their critical risks and embed pragmatic actions into their day-to-day work, because process safety goes beyond procedures and metrics. It requires disciplined thinking, practical judgment, and consistent action by everyone in the organisation. Beyond consulting as Process Safety Essentials, Janelle connects process safety professionals to share experience, challenge thinking, and strengthen professional judgment through Process Safety People, a global online network for people who work or think in process safety.
