Biography

Dr. Sarah Barabash is a Senior Environmental Scientist with Ecometrix with over 20 years of combined experience in research and consulting related to geochemistry, hydrogeology, mine waste management, water quality and environmental assessments. Since completing her Ph.D., she has worked as a consultant and research scientist and has been a principal investigator for a wide variety of environmental investigations, including mine waste and water quality assessments for proposed mine projects, detailed studies at operating and closed mines, and modelling of contaminant migration in surface and groundwaters. Sarah’s particular expertise is the planning and implementation of waste management programs, geochemical assessment and environmental monitoring studies. Sarah also works extensively with the mining sector on environmental assessment and permitting, as well as in the development and implementation of mine closure plans, and remediation and rehabilitation strategies.
