Mike has a chemical engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and a postgraduate degree in Advanced Automation. Mike has over 25 years of industrial experience in the oil & gas and mining industries, delivering automation and process optimization solutions. More recently, Mike has led the development of remote monitoring and analytics solutions for the mining industry, creating new connected equipment health monitoring offerings and IIOT business models. Mike recently held positions of Global Strategy Director for software and IIOT solutions at Honeywell, and VP of Technology for Matrikon Inc. As VP, Innovation and Advanced Technology, at SMS Equipment, Mike now manages the digital solutions business for SMS Equipment, including the delivery of Autonomous Haulage Systems. A well known speaker at industrial automation conferences, Mike has published several technical papers and is the author of a best selling book on industrial software solutions for performance improvement.
