Over almost ten years Teck Resources has been supporting their health and safety efforts with an innovative program of mandatory Quality Improvement Plans. Initially focused on Occupational Hygiene before expanding to Occupational Health and now Safety. The plans are adopted across the organization including operations, projects, exploration and legacy sites.
The program has steadily matured as it has expanded to improve accountability, drive enterprise wide goals , be supported within the organizations compensation model and foster learning.
This presentation will present will talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the program, how an organization may initiate such a program.
