This presentation provides an overview of practical dust-control solutions for mining and tunnelling, with particular focus on reducing respirable fine and quartz dust. It examines typical dust sources and compares different control methods, including water spraying, wet scrubbers and dry dedusting systems. Water spraying systems can achieve cleaning efficiencies of 40-60%, Wet scrubbers can achieve up to 99%, while dry de-dusters provide residual dust levels below 0.05 mg/m³. The presentation demonstrates how efficient dust-control technologies can significantly improve workplace air quality and contribute to safer and healthier underground working environments.
