Jordan Eves, Program Manager at Energy Safety Canada (ESC) will present on ESC' Managing Critical Work project. This project is a result of a tragic incident, on March 31, 2021, during excavator maintenance resulted in the death of one worker and serious injury to another. These devastating losses directly led to the creation of the Managing Critical Work initiative.
Built through a creative sentencing agreement with the Government of Alberta, the initiative shares lessons learned through practical, evidence-based tools designed to strengthen how critical work is planned and carried out. The video series helps better identify high-risk tasks, control hazards, and ensures wrokers are supported in dynamic environments.
