Abstract
This study presents an efficient grouping method to simplify kinetic parameter calibration for ferric leaching of mixed copper oxide and sulfide minerals in a five-mineral column test. By grouping reactions with similar kinetics, the calibration is reduced from 10 parameters to only 4, optimized over 4 sequential iterations. The resulting model accurately reproduces the experimental copper extraction curve while significantly improving computational efficiency. These findings provide a robust and efficient framework for multi-mineral heap leaching simulations and serve as a foundation for future extensions, such as incorporating additional minerals or detailed ore-specific kinetics.
