Abstract
The surging worldwide demand for rare earth elements (REE) and uncertainties in the global REE supply chain motivated the development of several processing flowsheets for Canadian REE deposits. In this study, a best laboratory practice is used to add predictive value to the Ashram project located in Northern Québec, Canada. It is demonstrated that process mineralogy and beneficiation techniques such as ore sorting, dense media separation, magnetic separation, and flotation when combined with the statistical analysis, resulted in more reliable conclusions. This resulted in a lower level of error in the data and arrived at higher REE grades with acceptable recoveries in the produced concentrate with higher certainty in the results.
