Abstract
In early 2024, IAMGOLD began the development of its Critical Risk Protocols (CRPs), the cornerstone of a broader critical risk management strategy. The focus of the CRP rollout has been on employee engagement and finding unique ways to talk to the workforce about the protocols. To this end, the company began introducing employees to draft protocols, rather than finalized versions, in the first of a two-phase rollout, with the intention of maximizing employee interactions and feedback with the document. This bottom-up approach has begun to yield interesting results and is the foundation of a new, co-created safety culture at IAMGOLD.
