Some of the biggest challenges for mineral processing sites are to increase availability, enhance performance, and improve product quality. Crucial to this effort are fixed assets such as crushers, conveyors, mills, motors, and pumps. A centralized, digital asset performance management (APM) solution for fixed assets can bring additional value through efficiency and sustainability improvements, reliability-centered maintenance, and higher equipment utilization.
A digital APM solution expedites analysis to assist in finding the root cause of inefficiencies or impending issues, and helps reveal opportunities for performance improvement, predict time to failure, and provide recommendations to optimize overall maintenance strategy. Incorporating digital twins and built-in asset libraries speeds implementation, and can provide a holistic modeling approach for root cause analysis, detecting variations in process conditions and machine parameters faster. Layered models identify never-before-seen patterns, and incorporate knowledge back into the model. Understanding underlying causes of low performance enables personnel to address the situation and bring assets back to established KPIs and industry standards and regulations.
