Abstract
When is the optimal time to stop a production machine for inspection and tire work? If you had accurate notification of severe damage to your truck tires, would you plan to remove those tires for preventive repair, at projected end of life or run your tires as long they are safe to do so?
Did you know TPMS systems are not effective in identifying the majority of hot tire events as most tire fires are due to issues that a sensor inside the tire cannot pick up? Kal Tire and Pitcrew.ai (autonomous inspection systems) have teamed up to address this issue by combining mine dispatch, thermal imaging technology and machine learning AI with Kal Tire's TOMS system to scan passing truck tires for damage and create prioiritized work orders based on site determined parameters.
Mark Goode, Director of Business Insights and Christian Erdelyi, TOMS System & Implementation Manager from Kal Tire will present live examples of how the system is improving mine safety and fleet productivity today and how Kal Tire is transitioning tire service management to Mining 4.0 by combining AI and interoperability.
