Abstract
Swiping right has become synonymous with indicating interest in today's digital world. Mining companies have long experienced difficulties in attracting diverse talent to renew their aging and changing workforce. This session explores how mining employers can present themselves as more attractive potential employers to graduates who have different expectations of their careers and workplaces than previous generations.
With the goal of identifying a more tailored approach to attracting talent, this session will engage the audience in an exploration of the factors that attract Gen Z talent from different backgrounds to the mining sector. How do the factors that attract Gen Z differ from current early career professionals? How do these factors compare between graduates from different fields of study? Is the mining sector an attractive potential employer to graduates in comparison to other industries? And, how can mining employers strategically connect to the factors that matter most to this talent pool?
The insights gained from this session will inform the development of an in-depth study on how to attract future generations of graduates to the mining sector.
