Abstract
Increasingly in the industry, mining in particular, the management of dewatering systems is an important task. The water balance is critical, especially in arid areas. In parallel the location of site operations are often remote; however these installations are requiring reliability, monitoring, assistance, guidance in order to keep the process optimized and as well as the risks of plant stoppages minimized. Diemme Filtration has developed an App (Aida - System Tutor) coupled with the supplied equipment/devices on the field which collects and elaborate data. The use of this App is generating multiple benefits: process monitoring/optimization, tracking of the filter cloths, preventive and predictive maintenance. We intend to present the results and the output obtained from an Italian plant processing Quarry Tailings in the last 10 months, showing real process trends and further elaboration of big data that allowed to optimize the process performance and to determine the real LCA of the plant. Moreover Diemme Filtration, has completed the design and is currently delivering of the largest Filterpress in the market (known as the ‘GHT5000F’ with plate size 5 m x 5m). This unit is going to be installed at a copper mine in Peru to process a large quantity of tailings. In fact, this application will be the final goal of AIDA, since in this specific site (the quantity of water in the process is massive, and the operating conditions extremely demanding) here the Aida App is going to monitor/manage many more data, and thanks to that it will be possible to obtain significant benefits and promptly support the operation.
