Abstract
In October 2021, Lomiko Metals Inc. announced a change in management, naming Belinda Labatte as CEO, mining engineer Gordana Slepcev as COO, and Vince Osbourne as CFO, and making the company the only junior in the critical minerals space with a female CEO. This change was followed up with the election of a new majority female, majority independent Board of Directors in December 2021, which brings diverse voices and cultural backgrounds to the table, and includes Indigenous female representation and three directors who are fluent in French. The company is now actively developing its La Loutre graphite property in Quebec, as well as its Bourier lithium property, also in Quebec, which is jointly held with Critical Elements Lithium Corporation.
CEO Belinda Labatte will discuss the importance of diversity in leadership, the company's people-first approach to its exploration and development projects, and the vision the leadership and board share of creating a high-growth critical minerals company whose mission is to manifest a world of abundant renewable energy with Canadian critical minerals in North America. Through its focus on people and communities, it aims to grow the critical minerals workforce, become a valued partner and neighbour with the communities in which it operates, and provide a secure and responsibly sourced supply of critical minerals.
