Abstract
The Tizert copper project is a low grade copper and silver deposit situated in the Anti-Atlas mountain range in Central Morocco. Discovered in the 70’s by Morocco’s BRGM and purchased by Managem in 2011, Reminex, (a subsidiary of Managem Group) has spent many years expanding the deposit’s resources until awarding the Feasibility Study for Tizert in 2018 to DRA Global . Following the positive results of the FS, Managem made the decision to move forward with construction of the mine late 2022 that will become the company’s flagship once in operation in 2025. This presentation will present the technical challenges covering exploration, mineral resource estimation, mining, mineral processing, infrastructure and environment that had to be overcome to bring this project from marginal deposit to a flagship mine.
