Abstract
While the adoption of BEV vehicles can provide many benefits:
- less heat produced.
- less noise and vibration for the operator.
- less ventilation required.
- reduced need for diesel and all the distribution and storage costs associated with fuel.
- greater social licence for BEV use and adoption.
- elimination of DPM.
Apart from the above benefits, there is also an additional benefit that BEV adoption can provide and this is in assiting mining companies plan to reach NET ZERO. With the carbon tax that exists and the established increases that will apply, the adoption of BEV units for U/G use can reduce or elimate the costs associated with this tax.On the surface this reduction of costs can be significant there is also another benefit. By establishing a plan to net zero, by way of BEV adoption, access to capital and funding can will also be seen as an attractive option. EV adoption can assist in your Net Zero/ Decarbonization journey as well as making the mining companies more attractive to funding opportunities and investors.
