Abstract
The IMII is an innovation supporting network for Saskatchewan’s minerals industry. It has sponsored three energy-related special projects and the Alternative Energy Systems Innovation Challenge. These projects have brought consideration forward for the development and deployment of small modular reactors, carbon capture and storage, battery energy storage systems and other new energy technologies in the minerals sector. This presentation will share the results of IMII’s energy-related efforts on behalf of its potash and uranium minerals company members, including lessons learned around the potential deployment of such alternative technologies in the sector.
