Abstract
“Energy and Circular Economy: Hydrogen”
Green hydrogen is a growing market with applications widespread over the horizon extended to the mining industry, from haul truck fuel to ammonia production. However, scaling green hydrogen production from a few kilowatts to giga-watt scale is not easy. It requires acute knowledge and effort in electrical design, electrolyzer selection, and optimization across the complete value chain. This presentation is about how we, at Schneider Electric, help de-risk the project with different digital solutions during different phases of the project to reduce the overall cost and improve performance.
- Digital Twin
- Digital twins can help in the analysis of hybrid electrical networks and the process needs. Using digital twins, engineering companies are able to customize their design for green hydrogen production facilities in a way that they are fit for purpose and scalable.
- Digital twins developed during the design phase also support efficiency improvement during the operation and maintenance phase and result in energy optimization and reduced unscheduled downtime.
- Automation with integrated architecture helps in managing the complete production cycle; from choosing the cheapest energy source to the management of intermittency of power generation and associated downstream continuous processes.
