Abstract
Mining industry has been and continues to be an important engine of nowadays economic development. We also must recognize the important GHG emissions generated by mining.
As part of the comminution circuit, the grinding is an important energy consumer in the mining process. Increasing grinding circuit’s efficiency is an important topic when defining a mining project; it will not only impact the operating costs, but from an energy consumption point of view, the whole environment.
The presentation will review the various electrical powertrain solutions and their impact on electrical network and GHG reduction.
The focus will be on variable frequency drives configurations, with grinding circuit’s operational benefits going above and beyond the electrical network friendliness.
