Abstract
Governments and surrounding communities are demanding higher standards of compliance from the water from your operations. How much control and confidence do you have in your water output? How quickly can you react to changes in the water?
Real-time monitoring has demonstrated a major benefit in controlling the water from mining operations. Real-time data can provide immediate insights, quick thinking solutions and confidence that, without it, could result in contamination, non-compliance, fines and damaged reputations. Only with real time data can you react to a site limit exceedance in a timely manner, eliminating any over limit discharges before they are released into the environment.
Using real incident data, both generated by our sensor and publicly available, we will discuss and demonstrate how over limit incidents pass through undetected with delayed laboratory testing, and demonstrate real-time monitoring data that shows environmental compliance issues that would otherwise go undetected with current monitoring methods. We will discuss our innovative sensor solution to this problem, the AquaValid sensor which detects and quantifies multiple metals in water in real time at low concentrations. Just because you do not see an over limit incident does not mean that it will not be detected downstream from your outflow!
