Abstract
This talk will focus on lessons learned from post-closure care of BHP’s 23 non-producing sites in North America including relinquishment as a closure outcome is extremely challenging, optimum closure strategies should be evaluated and selected based on undiscounted estimated closure costs, and water is the ‘golden thread’ that ties all major closure elements together.
