Abstract
Coleman Mine is a deep mine located on the North range of the Sudbury Basin. The mine is extracting high grade nickel-copper-precious metal ore from several orebodies. The primary mining methods employed are open stoping and cut-and-fill. Coleman is a one of the most seismically active mines in the Sudbury Basin. This presentation will review key learnings from the long-term seismicity and rockburst records. Key design strategies, control measures, and lessons learned will be reviewed.
