Abstract
Since the 2015 release of the International Council of Mining & Metals framework for Critical Controls Management, the concept of Critical Controls and Critical Control Performance Standards has gained traction in the resources industry.
Despite the efforts of the International Mining Industry in emphasising the importance of Performance Criteria, there remains a significant gap in understanding and application.
Some organisations have detailed performance criteria where others have none and of more concern no understanding of the concept or its importance in fatality prevention.
This presentation addresses this gap by exploring the essential elements of Critical Control Performance Criteria (also known as Critical Control Performance Standards).
Specifically, it covers:
- How to integrate the performance standard requirements into the Safety and Health Management System
- How to align the Performance Standard with Competency requirements of Recognised Standard 22 – Management Structure for the development and
- implementation of the Safety and Health Management System
- The 17 essential Performance Criteria to unpin Verification programs.
- The difference in ensuring critical Control performance and monitoring critical control performance.
- An objective model to calculate the frequency of critical control verifications.
- How to apply lifecycle management to Performance Criteria
- Determining training requirements for Critical Control Stakeholders.
Attendees will gain the knowledge necessary to develop and implement industry-leading Critical Control Performance Criteria, empowering them to improve the management of Critical Risk within their organisations.
