Abstract
In this paper, we will provide an overview of Epiroc’s implementation of Pumpable Resin technology on our Boltec units for ground support in underground mining. We will also provide greater detail on the specific uses of this technology as a means of improving productivity and reliability of ground support, particularly as it pertains to mining in isolated environments and with difficult ground conditions, and the successes already achieved with it. Pumpable Resin is a key component in the industry wide drive to automate ground support practices and we will detail how this is helping to progress towards an autonomous Boltec machine in the near future. We will demonstrate that Pumpable Resin technology is superior to conventional ground support methods in reliability and efficiency, and with the automation opportunities possible using this technology, new benchmarks in underground safety can be achieved.
