Dr. Hani Ababneh
1 articleBiography
Dr. Hani Ababneh is a postdoctoral fellow at Clean Energy Research Platform at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), with a research focus bridging mineral processing, thermochemical conversion, and sustainable mining practices. His work explores innovative approaches to ore beneficiation, mining industry decarbonatization, and the thermal treatment of mineral-based residues, aiming to enhance resource efficiency and reduce environmental impacts across the mining value chain. Dr. Ababneh holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Qatar University, where he developed advanced thermodynamic models for solid-vapor equilibrium systems, relevant to CO₂ capture. His recent work includes studies on steam calcination of magnesium carbonate and the decomposition of phosphogypsum waste—offering pathways for value-added recovery of critical materials in mining contexts.
