Christine Gasteiger brings almost two decades of experience in the mining industry after graduating as a mining engineering technologist in 2000.
Following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father, Christine joined Vale in 2001 and has roots within Vale dating back to the 1950’s. As comfortable sitting in a boardroom as she is being over 8000’ underground, her career has spanned across functions in engineering, operations, as well as operational excellence.
Driven by her passion for people and eliminating risk using technology, she has helped define and lead process implementation across the North Atlantic mines. Through this work, Christine has also spearheaded Vale’s shift to agile delivery. Her approach involves end users through end-to-end product development to continuously demonstrate value aligned to the actual needs of the business.
