Biography

Ryan Heppler is a Structural Engineer in the Industrial group at WSP. He works primarily in the mining field, leading and completing design projects for clients. He specializes in the design of headframes and hoisting plant systems. Mr. Heppler has been the lead structural engineer on many large scale, multi-discipline mining projects for mines throughout North America. Project examples include headframes, shafts, storage bins, equipment support systems, and hoisting related structural elements. Mr. Heppler has strong field experience. He has worked at a variety of mine sites in both hard and soft rock, as well as, open pit and underground mining operations. At mine sites he has completed project scoping, meetings, field supervision, quality assurance and field investigations. Mr. Heppler has contributed to his academic field through acting as a Sessional Lecturer at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. The course he has delivered is the steel building design portion of the Technology Project.
