Biography

I am a senior consultant with knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering design and related technical applications for civil and mining engineering problems. I have participated in the design of large tailings dams and heap leaches, onshore pipeline earthquake engineering, seismic assessments for natural gas and oil pipelines and building design. I have led the geotechnical design of large filtered tailings deposits, conventional tailings dams, and the seismic upgrade and conversion of tailings dams applying both precautionary and performance-based approaches. I have been involved in the development of a wide variety of mining projects where the seismic assessment was a critical component in project development, rehabilitation and design. I have led and managed complex multidisciplinary studies through the tailings facility lifecycle in stable and active tectonic environments. I have provided and reviewed seismic design criteria for many mine sites along the Americas.
