Description

The safe management and operation of electrical installations depends not only on technical rules and procedures, but also on clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and competence requirements. The presentation introduces the IEC TS 63527 ED1 guide on the safe management and operation of electrical installations and focuses on one of its central messages: electrical safety can only be achieved when tasks are assigned to appropriately qualified and authorised persons. In this context, the standard distinguishes systematically between different functions such as installation manager, operation controller, work controller, and worker, and links these functions to specific levels of competence, supervision, and accountability.
