Abstract
With installations in four continents (soon to be five) over fifteen years, Railveyor is still relatively unknown for bulk material haulage in mining and industrial applications in both underground and on surface. A lot of attention is being given to electrifying operations to meet aggressive net zero carbon goals of mine owners and major corporations. Many significant changes are years away from implementation due to the economics of change and bringing new methods to viability. The Railveyor solution is available now and is proven to reduce mine haulage annualized operating expenses by up to 90% compared to diesel trucks. In this presentation, we will: 1) briefly explain the hardware and software of the fully electric, TrulyAutonomous™ system which uses light rail with no permanent infrastructure; and 2) give overviews of two recent studies completed to compare major hauling methods with Railveyor: a) economics in the underground mining sector, and b) environmental trade-offs. Railveyor is the winner of the 4th Annual Mining Cleantech Challenge.
