Abstract
Canada has embarked on an ambitious critical minerals strategy for the development of critical mineral resources and value chains to advance the green and digital economy. Natural Resources Canada has played a leadership role in advancing the strategy, including the development of Canada’s critical minerals list, formation of the Critical Minerals Centre of Excellence, development and implementation of the critical minerals strategy itself, and roll-out of the Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration (CMRDD) program through R&D support from federal research laboratories. Additional programming is currently under development. This presentation will provide an overview of these activities, examples of the programming impacts to date, and opportunities for engagement and collaboration in these programs.
