Abstract
Our society is facing a turning point in energy transition. Mining Industry plays an important role in this energy transition. However, our mining industry has a gap in the workforce that needs to be filled urgently. Old people are going to retire soon, but not many young people want to join the mining industry. Asian newcomers could fill this gap in human resources for our mining industry. During the beginning of the pandemic, I experienced racism at the CIM Saskatoon Student Chapter. However, As a refugee student, I use my hard work in sanitization to protect our mining communities and eliminate racism towards Asian newcomers. Racism is the virus. We should build a healthy relationship between Asian and European newcomers. Due to my dedication and public service during this pandemic, I received Her Late Majesty the Queen Platinum Jubilee Pin and Medal. My awards inspired me to do more work for a more inclusive and diverse mining industry as a Career Ambassador of the Mining Industry Human Resources Council. Eventually, we could fill the human resources gap with diversity and inclusion. I wish you could chat with me at 2024 CIM Connect to work together on this urgent issue during the energy transition. We need mining, and mining needs you! https://www.facebook.com/reel/837429571470068
