Abstract
This session will a 'TED Talk' style presentation that offers a detailed walk-through of IAMGOLD's year-long journey of building a biodiversity roadmap; including the process of defining baselines, setting targets and building regional strategies. The session will dive into the complex science of biodiversity impacts and dependencies, and also discuss both philosophical and practical questions around rehabilitation vs. offsets. The presentation will conclude with IAMGOLD's strategy and a discussion on the opportunities for industry to spearhead nature-positive partnerships with Indigenous, local, provincial and federal governments. The presentation will feature the VP of Health, Safety and Sustainability of IMAGOLD.
