Abstract
Major mining companies have started to invest in technologies which will make mining cleaner and safer. They are improving their environmental performance by using these new technologies to reduce water and energy usage. This practice can also reduce environmental pollution thus making mine sites both underground and on surface cleaner and safer for the workers and the community. This session will show how the innovative Rail-Veyor® TrulyAutonomous™ haulage system can help mining companies to achieve their net zero GHG goals or significantly reduced emissions as well as lower water and energy usage. We will take a deep look three installations in the western hemisphere which have increased their environmental consciousness and decreased their footprint through employing the 2020 Mining Cleantech Challenge winner.
