Abstract
Soundless chemical demolition agents (SCDA) are powdery cementitious materials, which upon mixing with water and poured into a confined borehole, generate high pressure causing the destruction of the surrounding material. This poster will present the large-scale test of SCDA performance for rock breakage under biaxial loading conditions, including test setup, biaxial loading frame design, pilot test results, and PFC2D numerical modelling. The large-scale test of SCDA performance is part of a multi-phase project aiming to revolutionize an alternative, explosive-free method for rock breakage in underground mines.
