Abstract
In recent years mining capital projects have seen massive cost overruns and blown schedules running rampant like a runaway train. The statistics are staggering, and it makes one wonder – where did we go wrong and how did we get so far off track!?! The Mining Misfits are focused on answering those exact questions. A group of global industry leaders who want to make our industry better and more sustainable have come together to share their experiences. What worked, what didn’t, and why? In this presentation for the Capital Projects Symposium the author will discuss the Mining Misfits round table discussions and the major themes extracted from more than a century of collective experience.
