Abstract
Autonomous operation of a processing plant is built upon several layers. As plants become more and more automated, the availability and reliability of the equipment and instruments becomes essential. Sustainability of an industrial internet of things solution is a key factor in a successful advanced automation implementation. Therefore, a comprehensive platform to monitor and improve the reliability status of the plant becomes one of the basic steps to reach autonomous operation. In this presentation, ANDRITZ shares the use of a digital transformation platform, Metris. This platform has been developed through the last ten years, organically, to address the needs of pulp and paper maintenance and reliability engineers to increase the availability of their plants. Needless to say, pulp and paper and mineral processing industries have a lot of commonality. Fortunately for mining industry, pulp and paper plants are early adopters of digital technologies. Mining industry can use some of the lessons learned from other industries without taking any unnecessary risk. Through this talk, we share important best practices on how to have a sustainable risked based maintenance structure using a comprehensive digital transformation technology, Metris. We will also show how this platform can increase the total availability and reliability of a plant and how it’s being used in more than fifty five plants across the globe. This talk is based on interactive demos and proven improvement results gathered from ten years of implementation.
